Hulda was originally a final project in my last year study at Laban, where there were many guidelines of how one should present their work. Me and the group were very interested working more on that piece, as the guidelines and time limit for the original project didn’t allow those kind of development at that time. Therefore we have decided to recreate the work in coming months.

The inspiration for the work is taken from Icelandic folktales and nature, focusing mainly on the stories about hidden people.

We are still playing with finding new elements for the piece but we work a lot with improvisation, it is important to keep this piece a live and not set too much in stones. Inspiration for movement material we draw out of the stories as well as being part of nature, coming in and out of nature. We have been working on building this specific energy and our aim is not to tell a story with this piece but rather create an atmosphere and make the audience curious about this hidden world, let people nurture their imagination and therefore their creativity.
