Additional Insights:

  • Drivers aged 18 to 29 are more likely to drive in silence/reflect on their thoughts than other generations, with 40.9% reporting so compared to 33.2% of the general population.
  • One-third (31.6%) of drivers aged 18 to 29 admit to texting while driving, while 11% use social media.
  • Seniors are the most reluctant group when it comes to self-driving cars, at only 26.3% saying they would ride in them, compared to 38.2% of the general population.
  • Men are twice as likely to be tempted to livestream their driving as women, at 2.12% compared to 1.06%.
  • Men are more likely to be tempted to drive illegally or pass on shoulder (4.5% versus 2.8%), while women more tempted to road rage (11.8% versus 9.8%).
  • People living in Mountain states are the most familiar with advanced auto terms and most eager to adopt self-driving cars.
  • When it comes to connected cars, the East North Central region leads in adoption, while New England lags.
